Contextual Advertising
Wimbledon is upon us and after the success of our Royal Ascot meeting 2008 I feel the need to create some contextual advertising content around Wimbledon. But what should we talk about?

If we’re going to maximise the contextual advertising spend, then we need to find out what people are searching rather than make assumptions as this could take us down the wrong track. We’ll check our search string aggregator, add a little salt and common sense to the mix and see what drops out of the bottom.

Firstly, what shall we call the space? Do we go Wimbledon? great but only once a year. There are many more tournaments which will share much of the content so let’s go with tennis in general and create sections around the topics that are popular.

If we call the news section Wimbledon 2008 then we can change this for other tournaments should we find some tennis nut who likes to scribble content... is that you? Say hello on 01753 852904... or does it sound like someone you know... tell them to get in touch with us, same number 01753 852904.

The other sections will be about the players, the equipment they use, the coaches, tennis elbow and a spot of gambling. Not as much as with the Royal Ascot but people still like a flutter.

Key to this is the content and so we need someone who is into tennis and is a copy writer. We’ll push out the content and we’ll make money from contextual advertising. The revenue stream we will share with the copy writer and hopefully England’s great new hope Andy Murray will smash Nadal in the final and we’ll move on to Henley Regatta with a smile on our chops!
